Prospect High School Knight Marching Band To Host 18 Midwest Marching Bands In 17th Annual "Knight Of Champions" Competition

 6:34 AM Wednesday   Prospect High School Marching Knights are hosting 18 bands from the upper Midwest at the 17th annual Knight Of Champions (KOC) marching band competition on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012.  Marching Bands will perform from 3-9 p.m. at Prospect's Gattas Memorial Stadium, 801 W. Kensington Road, Mount Prospect.  Gates open to the public at 1:30 p.m.

Bands will compete in three classes: 

A (up to 64 members)

AA (65 to 96 members)

AAA (97 or more members).  

Awards will include 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each class.  Additional awards for Outstanding Percussion, Outstanding Auxiliary, Outstanding Music, Outstanding Visual and Outstanding General Effect will be given to each class, as well as an overall Grand Champion traveling trophy.

The following high schools are expected to attend and perform (in order of appearance):

Naperville Central High School, 
Rock Island High School, 
Wheaton Warrenville South High School, Victor J. Andrew High School, 
Glenbard West High School, 
Wheeling High School, Glenbrook 
North High School, 
Amos Alonzo Stagg High School, 
Prairie Ridge High School, 
Plainfield Central High School, 
Glenbrook South High School, 
Lincoln-Way North High School, 
Lake Park High School, 
Lockport Township High School, 
Morton High School
Fremd High School. 

The Prospect Marching Knights will give an exhibition performance at the conclusion of the competition.
