One Injured, Moderate Damage To Attached Garage At Townhouse On St. Marks Place, Palatine

Palatine police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 6:14 PM Saturday to townhouse attached garage fire in the 1700 block of St. Mark's Place.  The first Palatine fire crew arrived in less than two minutes and reported a working fire. The fire was attacked with a 1¾" hose line while other firefighters attached a supply line to a fire hydrant.

Initially there was a report that where was a person still inside the townhouse, but firefighters performed a search and also learned that all residents were out of the unit.

Firefighters opened up drywall in the walls and ceiling of the garage to confirm there was no hidden fire.

The fire was declared under control at 6:30 p.m. after firefighters went to the roof to make sure no fire spread to the attic.

One of three residents was home at the time of the fire and was transported to Northwest Community Hospital with injuries considered non-life-threatening.

Palatine police also responded to the fire scene, which had some tight corners along the townhouse driveway.
