Retail Theft Suspect Caught In Stonegate Neighborhood After Foot Pursuit Dryden, Campbell, Windsor, Derbyshire

Arlington Heights police received a report about 3:31 PM Friday of retail theft  at Mariano's, 802 East Northwest Highway. Police received a report that a male/white about 18-years-old left Mariano's with liquor without paying for the liquor. The offender was described as a male/white, 18-years-old about 5'6" 130 LBS, and wearing a black hoodie and black pants.

The caller from Mariano's had a plaid red shirt, a dark pea coat with tan khaki pants and was chasing the offender near Dryden and Kensington. A partner of the offender apparently ditched the liquor.

Police then reported a suspect was running from the police wearing a black hoodie with yellow or gold on the back. He was running northbound in the back of the Dryden Apartments north of Kensington Road. He then hopped the rear fence and headed eastbound on Campbell Street.

Police set up a perimeter around Windsor School and at both ends of Campbell Street, and spotted him again running down Derbyshire at about 3:42 p.m. The suspect was in custody in front of a house in the 0-99 block of South Derbyshire at about 3:43 p.m., and was transported in custody to Arlington Heights Police Department Headquarters.
