Numerous reports of roadways and basements flooded in Chicagoland after at least 2 inches of rain fell since about 1:00 a.m. Up to an additional two inches of rain is forecast for today, and the area is still under a Flash Flood Warning and a Flood Warning.

The Des Plaines River is expected to reach record levels in Des Plaines and Riverside today. Water is expected to be over the banks.

Radar indicates wide areas of thunderstorms moving from southwest to northeast.
