Woman Charged With Battery, Resisting Arrest After Kicking And Elbowing Police Officer Near Marathon Station, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police responded about 3:58 PM Friday to a battery against a police officer at the Marathon gas station, 102 West Northwest Highway Arlington Heights, IL. A police officer on patrol discovered three subjects drinking alcohol at the back of the gas station.

The police officer exited the vehicle and then the offender started swearing at the officer and threatened to shoot him. The offender walked toward an open duffel bag, and the police officer ordered her to stop. The female subject then ran to a bike, and was stopped after a short foot pursuit. The offender kicked the police officer and elbowed him. As the police officer was putting on handcuffs to arrest the woman she continued to resist. She was warned she is going to get pepper sprayed, and was eventually pepper sprayed before she finally stopped resisting.

Jennifer R. Weissmann of the 1100 block of Marshal Drive, Des Plaines was charged with battery and resisting a peace officer. She was held for bond hearing. No court date available.
