Heavy Fire In Attached Garage: House Fire On Victorian Ln, Long Grove

Long Grove firefighter/paramedics and Lake County Sheriff's deputies responded about 6:29 AM Monday to a report of a house fire in the block of 3200 Victorian Lane Long Grove, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report of a house fire with possible explosions in the garage. The first firefighters on the scene reported heavy fire showing from the attached garage at the south side of a large luxury home.

Firefighters initially attacked the fire from the outside and switched to an interior attack within about 10 minutes after arriving on the scene.

Firefighters extinguished the fire quickly and held the fire to the second floor and attic above the garage.

Unknown on injuries at this time. A Libertyville ambulance was moved up to the scene in addition to a Long Grove ambulance that was already on the scene for firefighter on-scene rehab.

Firefighters from Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove, Deerfield-Bannockburn, Lincolnshire Riverwoods, Mundelein, Palatine, Palatine Rural, Prospect Heights Tanker, Wauconda Tender, Countryside Tanker, Wheeling and others assisted Long Grove firefighters, mutual aid.

Emergency activities on Route 53/Old Hicks Road caused a severe back up in both directions, especially eastbound.
