Arlington Heights Christmas Tree - Holiday Tree Up At North School Park Today, Veteran's Day

The Arlington Heights holiday tree at North School Park went up today. Cardinal translation: What many people call a Christmas Tree will soon light up North School Park with several other Christmas and holiday decorations for celebrations held around December 25 and the date of the Winter Solstice.

The tree was donated by a family whose home is on Roosevelt Avenue, just south of Davis Street.

North School Park is located at Eastman Street and Arlington Heights Road. traditionally the tree-lighting ceremony is held about 5:00 p.m. on Friday after Thanksgiving.

Since December 1991, North School Park, Eastman Street at Arlington Heights Road, has celebrated the holidays aglow in lights - over 70,000 tiny lights. Installation of the display pieces begins the week before the Tree Lighting Ceremony.

Each year The Village of Arlington Heights installs a decorated evergreen on the Park's fountain and lights up the streetscape trees. Park District craftsmen have created a number of display pieces over the years that carry out a children's toy theme.


According to the Arlington Heights Park District, the 2013/2014 Holiday Display will include:
