Arlington Heights Weather Forecast: Enjoy High 46 Saturday, But Be Ready For A 49-Degree Drop By Monday Morning

Chicagoland weather radar is all clear at about 10:30 a.m. The next chance for preipitation is Sunday morning and extending until 11:00 p.m. Sunday. About 1/4 to 1/2-inch is possible.

Satellite images show for the second consecutive day that northeast Illinois is clear while northwest Illinois, most of Wisconsin and eastern Iowa is cloudy. Clouds are expected to gradually increase starting about 7:00 p.m. Saturday with mostly cloudy conditions by about 5:00 a.m.

Today's high of 46 degrees (normal high 32) should occur about 3:00 p.m. followed by a slow and continuous drop to 40 degrees at midnight Saturday/Sunday, 31 degrees at 6:00 a.m. Sunday, 28 degrees at noon Sunday, 10 degrees at 9:00 p.m. Sunday, 6 degrees at midnight, Sunday/Monday and -3 degrees by 8:00 a.m. Monday morning.

New Year's Eve temperature forecasts have improved a little with a high of 10 degrees during the day and a low of -1 degree at midnight Tuesday/Wednesday. Wind chill at midnight on New Year's Eve is expected to be about -11 degrees. However, we are still facing a forecast with a big temperature drop -- a 49-degree drop in 40 hours (46 degrees, 3 PM Saturday to -3 degrees at 7 AM Monday.
