Quest Church Hosting “Simply Green” Workshop At The Metropolis Performing Arts Centre
Everybody wants to save the world, but being green is too hard. Or is it?
Quest Church is hosting "Simply Green" at The Metropolis Performing Arts Centre, 111 W. Campbell, Arlington Heights, on February 9, 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Quest Church has an acute passion for admiring, enjoying and respecting God's creation, and that means minimizing the harm we do to it. In order to put our money where our mouth is, Quest is on a mission to keep waste to an absolute minimum, and we want to share that mission with our community. Chris and Sarah Shaw, the couple spearheading that challenge, have accumulated some know-how on the subject and believe Jesus would want them to share the going green information, free-of-charge.
Quest Church welcomes guests to attend the "Simply Green" plorkshop (play-workshop) and learn some ridiculously simple changes you can make that will help your wallet as much as they help the environment. Going green doesn't necessarily require dumpster diving for plastic bottles (although you could do that). "Simply Green" is about learning to climb the 5-step sustainable-wood ladder of super-easy ecofriendliness, and showing off your new tricks as you rise. Your eco-friends will be green with envy (you can tell them how easy it was to #getonyourlevel whenever you're ready).
There will be a supervised play area for nursery through second grade.
"Simply Green" is another of our plorkshops (play-workshops) that follow our regular gathering (9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.). There will be another plorkshop ("YASTYM: You Are Smarter Than Your Money") at 11:00 a.m., followed by a free lunch at noon and then the "Simply Green" plorkshop beginning at 12:30 p.m. Feel free to attend all three.
Quest Church is a new, nondenominational, Christian church in Arlington Heights. Services are held Sundays, 9:30 a.m. at the Metropolis Performing Arts Centre, 111 W.
