What Happened To Chicago's Progressive Talk? It's Now Polish Format From Arlington Heights Radio Tower Daytime, Dance Hits At Night

The Arlington Heights radio tower that formerly broadcast "Chicago's Progressive Talk" now broadcasts in Polish from 5:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. The station began broadcasting Polish music format -- apparently dance and pop music. The station is branded Polski FM. There are some English language song aired on the station, such "Around the World" by the Disco Boys.

The station still airs the popular Dance Factory FM Dance Hits format station from 9:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. which is a dance club format, including electronic, dance, and house music with DJ mixes.

Although the POLSKI FM station debuted on June 2, 2014, the official website polski.fm claims (or anticipates) over million Poles and Polish-Americans between the ages of fifteen and seventy-five (will) listen to the radio station on POLSKI FM 92.7 and 99.9 FM.

The station's call sign has changed call letters from WCPT to WCPY.

The frequency carried a Dance Hits format 24 hours a day from 2001 to 2003 at Energy 92.7 & 5, carried a Mexican Music Format from 2003 to 2004. The station switch to adult hits NINE FM in 2004, and in 2006, Dance Hits returned to the station in the overnights slot. NINE FM was replaced by progressive talk radio in 2008.
