Strong Gas Leak At Deerfield Pkwy And Commerce St Stops Metra Train, Freight Trains And Traffic On Deerfield Pkwy, Buffalo Grove
Buffalo Grove police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 11:15 AM Tuesday to a report of a gas leak at Deerfield Parkway and Commerce Street Buffalo Grove, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a vehicle hit a gas main and that gas could be heard streaming from the gas main.
Buffalo Grove Engine 26 crew on arrival reported that they have a gas and that they can hear gas blowing out.
Buffalo Grove's Battalion Chief order a shut down of Deerfield Parkway between Weiland Road and and Barclay Boulevard.
The Battalion Chief also order that all northbound and southbound Metra trains and Canadian National trains be stopped short of the Deerfield Parkway crossing.
A Grayslake engine, a Wauconda ambulance and a Northbrook ladder truck are standing by in Buffalo Grove while Buffalo Grove firefighters are busy working at the gas leak.
