Death Investigation on Windsor Dr South of Wilshire Ln, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 6:18 PM Friday to a report of an unresponsive man in or near a home in the block of 300 South Windsor Dr Arlington Heights, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a neighbor was checking on a man and found the man unresponsive.

Police on the scene did not reveal any details, but a Cook County Medical Examiner was on the scene for a death investigation.

At this time it is unknown if there was reason for suspicion about the death other than the fact that the home was the location of a working fire on May 19, 2014 at about 8:30 a.m. Police are possibly being extra cautious with the death solely because of the house fire about one year ago. If there are other details that raised suspicions about the death, police have not indicated such a suspicion, and have not indicated any concern about a threat in the neighborhood.

At least seven marked police vehicles were on the scene and at least three unmarked police vehicles with detectives and forensics investigators were on the scene at 4:30 p.m. Neighbors noticed the extra police activity about 2:30 p.m.

When firefighters arrived last year there was fire and smoke showing from a first floor window at a breezeway between the house and the garage. The fire was extinguished within ten minutes and no residents were home at the time of the fire.

Neighbors state the house was renovated for about a year, and that the resident, believed to be a man in his 70s, may have recently moved back into the house.
