A judge set bond Wednesday at $5 million for a man accused of sexually assaulting and then brutally stabbing a woman in her suburban Willowbrook home, the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s office said.

Londale Deyon Madison, 31, of South Bend, Ind. was captured on Tuesday in at the South Bend Airport Hub, South Bend, Indiana. He was wanted on an unrelated burglary warrant. After police contacted Madison on the burglary warrant, he was also charged with attempted first-degree murder, aggravated criminal sexual assault, home invasion and armed robbery in connection with the attack on a 26-year-old woman in her home in Willowbrook.

In the attack in Willowbrook about 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 29, 2015, the victim was at her car in her driveway when a man pulled up and asked for money. She refused his request for money and went into the house.

A short time later, when the woman was in her home on 73rd Court, Madison allegedly got out of the car, knocked on her door and asked to make a call so he could get gas money to get back to Indiana. She refused again and said she was going to call the police. Next, Madison allegedly broke in, sexually assaulted her, beat her and then stabbed her. Police reported she was stabbed as many as 16 times. She is expected to make a full recovery.

After the attack, the victim was able to make it to a neighbor’s house for help. On Sunday, she gave police a detailed description of her attacker from her hospital bed. Police created a composite sketch, and were also able to obtain her description of the suspect’s vehicle — a dark blue 2006 Nissan Altima with no front license plate and an Indiana bicentennial plate in the rear. A Nissan Altima matching that description was found Monday in Brookfield, about eight miles or 20 minutes driving time northeast of Willowbrook.

Madison was previously arrested for burglary in 2011 and/or 2012.
