Odor from Burning Porta Pottie at Melas Park Infiltrates Northwest Central Dispatch 911 Center on East Davis St, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 9:06 PM Friday to Northwest Central Dispatch System 911 Center, 1975 East Davis Street Arlington Heights, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that there was a smell of something burning in the 9-1-1 center.

Arlington Heights Tower 1 crew was on the scene investigating when Mount Prospect firefighter/paramedics were dispatched to Melas Park, 1500 West Central Road.

Mount Prospect police and firefighter/paramedics received a report about 9:19 p.m. of black smoke and 5-foot flames coming from the parking area in the park.

Tower 1's crew report flames showing behind south of the Northwest Central Dispatch building.

Mount Prospect police on arrival reported a Porta-Pottie and a sign on fire on the Melas Park Property.

No injuries were reported.
