Update: Offender "Struck Victim" in Armed Robbery at Dunkin' Donuts on S Arlington Heights, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police responded about 2:34 AM Thursday to a strong armed robbery at Dunkin' Donuts, 2106 South Arlington Heights Road Arlington Heights, IL. Arlington Heights police released additional details about an armed robbery at the Dunkin' Donuts on Arlington Heights Road between Golf Road and Algonquin Road reported earlier on The Cardinal.

Police received a report that the offender struck the victim while in the drive-thru as he pointed a gun at the employee at Dunkin' Donuts.

Police received a report that the offender approached the victim while in the drive-thru of the business. The offender struck the victim, demanded money and pointed a gun in the victim's face.

The offender was described as a male Hispanic 5'9" -- last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and a red bandana. The offender took cash and fled on foot westbound from the scene.

A Palatine Police Department K-9 unit also responded to the scene -- apparently to attempt to pick up a tracking scent from the offender.

Arlington Heights firefighter/paramedics transported the victim to Northwest Community Hospital. No shots fired and no gunshot wounds were reported.

The crime is reported to have occurred at 2:33 a.m. Thursday, October 1, 2015.

The crime was the third crime involving violence or threats of violence on the south side of Arlington Heights in a one week period.

On Monday September 28, 2015 an offender pointed a gun at a woman at the 24-ATM drive thru at Chase Bank at 43 East Golf Road.
