Man Charged with Impersonating an ATF Agent, Carrying a Concealed Weapon in a Bar on Arthur Ave, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police responded about 8:30 PM Sunday to a report of a man impersonating an ATF officer during an argument at Somebody's Bar and Grill, 858 South Arthur Avenue Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that a man falsely claimed to be an undercover agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). Paul C. Coy, who was dressed in plain clothes, reportedly had a replica of an ATF badge on his belt and a fraudulent ID purporting to be from the ATF. The incident allegedly started inside Somebody's Bar and Grill after Coy argued with a 51-year-old Mount Prospect man, who police said formerly dated a woman who was dating Coy as of Sunday night January 21, 2018. The Mount Prospect man told police he initially confronted Coy inside the bar after hearing what he believed was a false claim that Coy said he was an ATF agent. Arlington Heights firefighter/paramedics responded about 7:15 AM Tuesday to 300 East Rand Road Arlington Heights, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that Callers reported an outside odor of natural gas. One motorist reported an odor from about Fernandez to Highland Avenue about 7:15 a.m. A second caller reported an outside gas odor in the area of Palatine Road and Rand Road about 7:19 a.m. A third call reported an outside gas odor as they were exiting the Northpoint Shopping Center near the Chase Bank on Arlington Heights Road. A fourth caller reported an outside gas odor near the Chase Bank near the drive-thru at about 7:59 a.m. Engine 2's crew found no odor and their meter did not detect a gas reading at the reported locations. Police on arrival report flames coming from a unit window by 8:11 p.m. Engine 82's crew on arrival reported fire showing from the left side of the building, and they reported they were going to work with a pre-connect hose line. A crew was leading out with a second line to the fire by 8:14 p.m. Tower Ladder 85's crew was assigned to set up ground ladders around the building. The first interior crew (Engine 82?) was hitting the fire on the second floor by 8:21 p.m. Engine 82 had a positive water supply by 8:22 p.m. A primary search was underway by 8:23 p.m. At 8:24 p.m. the interior crew reported multiple rooms on fire and requested
