Numerous Natural Gas Odor Reports Tuesday Morning Near Arlington Heights Rd and Rand Rd; Palatine and Fernandez Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights firefighter/paramedics responded about 7:15 AM Tuesday to 300 East Rand Road Arlington Heights, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that


Callers reported an outside odor of natural gas. One motorist reported an odor from about Fernandez to Highland Avenue about 7:15 a.m.

A second caller reported an outside gas odor in the area of Palatine Road and Rand Road about 7:19 a.m.

A third call reported an outside gas odor as they were exiting the Northpoint Shopping Center near the Chase Bank on Arlington Heights Road.

A fourth caller reported an outside gas odor near the Chase Bank near the drive-thru at about 7:59 a.m.

Engine 2's crew found no odor and their meter did not detect a gas reading at the reported locations.

A Carbon Monoxide detector also activated in the block of 500 Happfield Drive further north. The CO detector incident is not intended to imply a connection with the outdoor gas odor calls.
