Commercial Burglary to Shipping Container on South Arlington Heights Rd, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police received a report about 2:45 AM Sunday of a commercial burglary of a shipping container at Verilife, 1816 South Arlington Heights Road Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that an unknown offender or offenders forced entry and gained access to a shipping container located on the property. The incident was captured on video surveillance and the suspect was described as a White Male, wearing a baseball hat, gray hooded sweatshirt, red pants, and a pair of black and red gym shoes.

Arlington Heights Police Department did not specify whether any contents were taken.

Multiple Students Exposed To Spray Irritant on School Bus at Church St and Capitol Dr, Maine Township

Des Plaines police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 3:19 PM Monday to a report of students on a school bus exposed to eye irritant spray dispersal at Church Street and Capitol Drive Des Plaines, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that


MABAS Division 3 EMS Plan 1 on Box #3 for eye irritant spray dispersal on a school bus (MACE or Pepper Spray).

EMS Plan 1 activated at 3:28 p.m. for 12-14 exposures to pepper spray.

Eleven total transports to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital. There were 52 students on the bus; 40 students are OK, and 12 were exposed. One patient arrived on the scene and was going to transport their child to the hospital

School administrators arrived on the scene. Eleven patients were transported by ambulance. A second bus arrived on the scene to transport the uninjured students.

Rollover Semi-Tanker Crash with Entrapment, Ethanol on Elmhurst Rd Near I-90, Unincororated Des Plaines

Des Plaines police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 7:46 AM Wednesday to a report of a rollover crash with injuries on northbound Elmhurst Road near I-90. E63 on arrival reports a rollover tanker truck leaking fluid. Placard 1987 is displayed on the truck. Pinned driver with rapid extrication. If actually Placard 1987, contents are ethanol alcohol. , 42.017535, -87.940147 (Elmhurst Road and I-90 Des Plaines, Il). Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report of a rollover crash with injuries on northbound Elmhurst Road near I-90. des Plaines Engine 63's crew on arrival reported a rollover tanker truck leaking fluid. The crew reported Placard 1987 is displayed on the truck, which would be ethanol alcohol if the placard is accurate.

The driver was pinned in the truck and crews were working in rapid extrication mode. If actually Placard 1987, contents are ethanol alcohol. A battalion chief on the scene reported that they were dealing with denatured alcohol. Denatured ethanol is described as ethanol with additives to make it poisonous, bad-tasting, foul-smelling, or nauseating to discourage recreational consumption.

A response from Chicago ARFF (Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting) was also immediately requested to respond from O'Hare International Airport.

The crash was upgraded to a working fire response at 7:59 a.m. because of the highly flammable nature of the hazardous material.

All firefighters near the scene are with full PPE and SCBA.

Retail Theft of $2,000 Merchandise from Walgreens at Palatine Rd and Arlington Heights Rd, Arlington Heights

Five unknown offenders were seen via video surveillance concealing merchandise for sale on their persons and in purses before leaving the Walgreens without paying for the merchandise. The total retail value of the merchandise taken illegally was approximately $2,000.

The first suspect is described as female/white or Hispanic, small build, with red hair tied in a bun and wearing a two-toned grey sweatshirt with black leggings and carrying an oversized purse.

The fifth suspect is described as female/white or female/Hispanic, heavy build, with medium length dark hair and wearing a grey sweatshirt, dark pants, dark shoes with white laces and carrying a baby in a baby carrier and a black bag.

Residential Burglary on Luther Lane in Luther Village, Arlington Heights

Prospect Heights police responded about 8:00 PM Tuesday to a report of shots fired at a victim in the block of 700 Piper Lane Prospect Heights, IL. Police received a report that a male offender in a vehicle shot at a victim and fled the scene in the vehicle. No people were stuck by bullets.

The vehicle was described as a maroon 4-door hatchback missing a hubcap and having an airplane Lyft sticker in the rear window.

The vehicle and offender were last seen westbound on Apple Drive toward Burning Bush Lane.

I-290 "Sheet of Ice" Shut Down at I-90/94: Multi-Vehicle Crash with Injuries Outbound I-290 at I-90/94, Chicago

Chicago police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 5:33 AM Monday to a report of a multi-vehicle crash with injuries on outbound I-290 at 41.875703, -87.645392 (I-290 and I-90/94 Chicago, Il). Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report of a multi-vehicle crash with injuries on outbound I-290 over I-90/94. Engine 1's crew reported their fire engine was rear-ended right above I-90/94. There were possibly two separate crashes in the area of I-290 and Halsted and I-290 and I-90/94.

Engine 1 reports a total of ten vehicles involved with three ambulances needed. I-290 shut down because of crash oprations and because I-290 is a sheet of ice.

Deputy District Chief 2-2-1 later reported eleven vehicles were involved and it will awhile before all vehicles are removed from the bridge and the bridge is salted.

Male Offender Tased, Charged with Assault of Firefighter at Dunkin' Donuts on Arlington Heights Rd, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm March 30, 2019 to a possible disturbance and an aggravated assault of a firefighter at Dunkin' Donuts, 4204 North Arlington Heights Arlington Heights, IL. Additional police and firefighter/paramedics responded after a male suspect was tased by police at Dunkin's Donuts.

Jonathan Robert Schaudt, age 45, of Pamela Road in Lake Zurich, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault of a Peace Officer/Fireman.

A second ambulance was also dispatched to the scene for a separate medical call. Information was not available regarding whether the second person knew Schaudt, who was tased and arrested.

Initially there was no release of information about why police were called to Dunkin' Donuts or why they were at Dunkin' Donuts. The suspect was tased before firefighter/paramedics were dispatched.

Toyota Rav4 Crash into Shoe Store at Rand Rd and Arlington Heights Rd, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 1:19 PM Thursday to a car crash into a shoe store at 315 East Rand Road Arlington Heights, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a car crashed into a store, and that the driver was not injured.

Police and firefighter/paramedics arrived to find a silver Toyota Rav4 was crashed through the front window and was about 30 feet inside the Ahh Comfort Shoes store.

The female driver reported she was not injured, and was sitting inside the store when firefighter/paramedics arrived.

Firefighter/paramedics checked the driver, and secured the hazards involving large and small pieces of glass.

Crash with Injuries at Buffalo Grove Road and Downing Road Arlington Heights and Smoke Investigation at Jersey Mike's on McHenry Rd

Arlington Heights police and Buffalo Grove firefighter/paramedics responded about 3:39 PM Tuesday to a report of a crash with injuries at Buffalo Grove Road and Downing Road Arlington Heights, Il.  A total of three ambulances were on the scene with at least three people injured.

Firefighters also responded about to a smoke investigation at Jersey Mike's at 171 North McHenry Road. Police in the area saw smoke at the building, the smoke was from workers doing roof repair. Some smoke made it inside the restaurant so firefighters made sure the problem was remedied and that smoke was ventilated from the building's interior.

Crash with at Least 7 Hurt Shuts Down Outbound Kennedy Expressway Near Randolph St, Chicago

Chicago police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 5:40 PM Monday to a report of a crash with multiple injuries on the outbound Kennedy Expressway 41.882979, -87.645523 (Kennedy Expressway and Randolph St Chicago, Il). Illinois State Police and firefighter/paramedics arrived to find a semi-trailer truck and at least one passenger car involved in a crash.

An EMS Plan 1 was requested on orders of Engine 1's crew at 5:45 p.m. Then Engine 1's crew requested an additional two ambulances above the EMS Plan 1 at 5:46 p.m. for a total of seven ambulances.

A28, A1, A65, A44, A41 and two other ambulances were on the scene. The Lake Street exit was used to transport patients off the Kennedy Expressway.

The outbound Kennedy Expressway was shutdown during rescue operations.

The EMS Plan 1 was secured at 6:09 p.m.

Multiple Waze users reported the crash.

Arlington Heights police responded about 1:00 PM Tuesday to a report of sale of alcohol to a minor at Mago Grill & Cantina, 115 West Campbell Street Arlington Heights, IL. Police arrested Antonio Aguilar Lopez, age 48 of South Goebbert Road in Arlington Heights following an alleged alcohol violation of selling alcohol to a minor.

Lopez arrested at 1:05 p.m. and was charged with Sale to a Minor, and was released on I-Bond.

Court date is scheduled for May 3, 2019

Driver Arrested Suspected of DUI at Route 53 and Palatine Rd, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police arrested a DUI driver 1:34 AM Sunday near Route 53 and Palatine Road Arlington Heights, IL. The driver was observed with probable cause for DUI and stopped by police. Police arrested the driver, Sarah Davin at 1:50 a.m.

House Fire on Lawn Court Near Kingsbury Drive Schaumburg

Schaumburg police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 12:56 PM Sunday to a report of a house fire on Lawn Court near Kingsbury Drive., Lawn Court and Kingsbury Drive Schaumburg, Il. The first crew on arrival reported heavy smoke showing with a fire in the attic.

The response was upgraded to a Working Fire/Code 4 at 1:04 p.m.

The building was laddered with ground ladders and firefighters had water on the fire. Firefighters also setup the main ladder

Firefighters were making progress with the fire in the attic by 1:15 p.m.

Streamwood dispatched an ambulance and a fire engine to the scene.

Arlington Heights and Rolling Meadows sent fire engines to standby in a Schaumburg fire stations.

Crash Off Ramp with Injuries Interstate 90 and Arlington Heights Rd, Arlington Heights

Illinois State Police and Arlington Heights firefighter/paramedics responded about 4:06 PM Saturday to a report of a four-vehicle crash at Arlington Heights Road and Interstate 90 Arlington Heights, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that four vehicles crashed on the ramp, apparently only one vehicle crashed off the ramp into the grass. Possibly three Good Samaritan drivers were helping out.

A Ford sedan was in the middle of the grass of the cloverleaf ramp from northbound Arlington Heights Road to westbound Interstate 90.

Apparently minor injuries occurred. The Ford sedan, which was barely visible in ground fog, was removed about 5:30 a.m.

A thick fog moved in about 5:45 a.m., reducing visibility to about 100 yards.

Fire Command on scene reported no entrapment in the vehicle.

Registered Sex Offender Arrested, Charged for Living within 500 Feet of a School on Tonne Drive, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police responded about 10:47 PM Sunday March 10, 2019 for the investigation of a registered sex offender offense at an apartment at 2115 South Tonne Drive Arlington Heights, IL. Police investigated an occurrence involving an Illinois registered sex offender living within 500 feet of a school where students under the age of 18 attend.

Billy Ray Cleveland, age 27, residing at 2115 South Tonne Drive was arrested and charged with Residing within 500 feet of a School as a Sex Offender at 6:05 p.m. Friday March 29, 2019 at the Arlington Heights Police Station, 200 East Sigwalt Street, and transported to court.

The investigation is reported to have begun on Sunday, March 10, 2019 at 10:46 PM.

Billy Ray Cleveland is described as a male/black, born in 1991, 5'9" 218 LBS. His previous address was listed as homeless in Arlington Heights.

Persons required to register as Sex Offenders are persons who have been charged of an offense listed in Illinois Compiled Statutes 730 ILCS 150/2(B) and 730 ILCS 150/2(C) when such charge results in one of the following:

(a) A conviction for the commission of the offense or attempt to commit the offense,

(b) A finding of not guilty by reason of insanity of committing the offense or attempting to commit the offense, or

Wrong Way Driver on Northwest Highway Stopped Near Northwest Highway and Main St, Mount Prospect

Female Offender Armed with Tazer Takes Merchandise from Dick's Sporting Goods on Palatine Rd Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police received a report about 10:22 AM Saturday of an armed robbery at Dick's Sporting Goods 401 E Palatine Road Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that a recognized previous female offender concealed merchandise for sale on her person and was stopped by store employees while still in the store.

The offender threatened the employee with a tazer, which she also brandished in the store.

The offender then left the business with the merchandise still concealed on her person and without paying for the merchandise.

The offender was last seen leaving the area in a silver minivan or a maroon SUV with an Illinois license plate. The full retail value of the merchandise taken is still under investigation.

The offender was described as a female/black, who was recognized by a store employee as a suspect in several other retail theft incidents at other Dick's Sporting Goods stores. Brush Fire in Deer Grove Forest Preserve on Ela Rd Just North of Northwest Highway Barrington

Barrington police and Barrington-Countryside firefighter/paramedics responded about 12:27 PM Sunday to a report of a house on fire near Ela Road and Northwest Highway Barrington, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a brown house was on fire on Ela Road just north of Northwest Highway.

Firefighters on arrival immediately upgraded the call to a working fire response, but were initially reporting a brush fire with no confirmed structure fire.

There was also possibly a controlled or prescribed burn underway in the west end of Deer Grove Forest Preserve, but the fire may have gotten out of control.

Brush trucks were being dispatched to the scene as a precaution, but workers managing the controlled burn said they had the fire under control at 12:42 p.m.

Female Teen with Open Liquor, Arrested Suspect of DUI After Crash on Rand Rd Near Chestnut Ave, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police arrested a suspected DUI driver 9:07 PM Saturday near Just tires, 221 West Rand Road Arlington Heights, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 7:52 p.m. to a report of a crash with a pole and/or tree. Upon arrival police and firefighter/paramedics discovered one vehicle involved in a crash with heavy front-end damage.


Police arrested a suspected DUI driver at 9:33 p.m. after the female driver was checked by paramedics and after she participated in a field sobriety test.

The driver was identified as Hollie Alvarez,age 19, of an address on Dundee Quarter in Palatine.

Smoke Report Turns Out to Be Malicious Discharge of Fire Extinguisher at Multi-Family Building Ridge Ave and Eastman St, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police received a report about 9:16 PM Sunday of criminal damage to property in the block of 500 West Eastman Street Arlington Heights, IL. Police and firefighters responded to a report of "smell of smoke" and white smoke in the basement laundry room area of an apartment building. Firefighters first entered the basement and confirmed a haze in the air. Firefighters soon discovered that the haze was caused by a malicious discharge of a fire extinguisher. A dry chem fire extinguisher was left on the floor near the basement laundry room.
