Suspicious Motorist Follows Woman She Left Her Workplace on Salt Creek Lane, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police responded about 4:01 PM Thursday to a report that a suspicious motorist followed a woman after she left work at 3350 Salt Creek Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that an unknown male offender, driving a silver older model pickup truck, began following a female victim after she left work in her own vehicle. The male offender drove directly behind the victim and followed her for several miles making the same lane changes and turns immediately after the victim made the lane changes and turns.

The victim made several unnecessary and off route turns onto side streets in order to test if she was being followed. The male offender made the same unnecessary and off route turns onto side streets. The victim then pulled into a public parking lot and waited for the male to leave. The male parked behind the female in the parking lot and proceeded to sit in his vehicle until the victim exited her vehicle. The male then followed the female into the store before the female was able to get away safely from the male.

The offender is described as a male/unknown race (or race not disclosed), 50-60 years old with short, spiked gray hair, wearing Oakley sunglasses, a short sleeved shirt and blue jeans.

The crime is reported to have occurred on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at 4:00 PM.
