Two $3,000 Laptops Taken in Vehicle Burglary on Wing St Near Vail Ave, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police received a report about 6:16 PM Wednesday of a vehicle burglary in the block of 100 West Wing Street Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that an unknown offender or offenders entered the victim's vehicle by breaking the rear passenger side window.

Reported taken was the victim's briefcase and backpack containing two laptops, valued at approximately $3,000 each.

The crime is reported to have occurred on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 between 5:30 PM and 6:15 PM. The elapsed time range including the time the crime could have occurred is 0:45 (hours: minutes).

Theft of Purse Left Behind at Burlington Coat Factory on West Rand Rd, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police received a report about 7:31 PM Thursday of a theft at Burlington Coat Factory, 30 West Rand Road Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that an unknown offender or offenders took the victim's purse, which contained the victim's wallet. The purse had been accidentally left behind after being set down in the store. The purse contained various credit cards and identification cards, and approximately $400.

The crime is reported to have occurred on Thursday, March 21, 2019 between 6:40 PM and 7:30 PM. The elapsed time range including the time the crime could have occurred is 0:50 (hours: minutes).

Theft of Purse While at Doctor's Office on Algonquin Rd, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police received a report about 1:11 PM Wednesday of a theft at Hand to Shoulder Associates, 515 West Algonquin Road Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that an unknown offender or offenders took the victim's purse containing the victim's wallet after the purse was accidentally left in lobby bathroom. The purse contained various credit cards and identification cards, a vehicle key fob, and approximately $65 cash.

The crime is reported to have occurred on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 between 12:53 PM and 1:10 PM. The elapsed time range including the time the crime could have occurred is 0:17 (hours: minutes).

Suspected DUI Arrest After Toyota Camry Crashed into Tree and/or Pole on Rand Rd, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police arrested a suspect DUI driver following a one-vehicle crash 7:52 AM Monday near Just Tires, 221 West Rand Road Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report of a crash and upon arrival found a Toyota Camry with severe front-end damage that had crashed into a pole and/or tree.

Police requested firefighter/paramedics respond to perform a medical assessment of the female driver. The driver did not request medical transportation to a hospital.

Next, police performed a field sobriety test. The driver was transported in custody to Arlington Heights Police Department headquarters.

The driver's vehicle was towed to a police holding area.

The identity of the driver was not initially released.

Armed Robbery at Shell Gas Station Route 31 and Route 176, Crystal Lake

Crystal Lake police responded about 8:34 PM Sunday to a second armed robbery Sunday night of gas station in Crystal Lake at 280 North Route 31 Crystal Lake, IL. Police received a report that two male offenders robbed the Shell gas station. Both suspects were described armed with small guns -- .22 caliber.

Suspect descriptions ...

#1 Male/black, in his 20s, 6'0" thin, bald, wearing a black hoodie and displayed a black handgun,

#2 Male/black, in his 20s, light skinned, wearing a gray hoodie with blue letters, displayed a silver hangun.

Both male/black suspects were last seen "running from location."

The crime is reported to have occurred about 8:32 p.m.

This was the second armed robbery at a gas station in Crystal Lake. There was also a gas robbery at Northwest Highway and Manor Road at about 6:53 p.m.

There was also an attempted armed robbery at a Citgo station about 2:51 p.m. Saturday at 487 South Rand Road in Lake Zurich, just south of Main Street.

There was also an armed robbery at the Gilmer's Shell gas station at Gilmer Road and Midlothian Road in Hawthorn Woods about 4:20 p.m. Saturday.

Armed Robbery Shell Gas Station Pantry at Route 14 and Manor Rd, Crystal Lake

Crystal Lake police responded about 6:53 PM Sunday to an armed robbery at Route 14 and Manor Road Crystal Lake, IL. Police received a report that two male offenders robbed the Open Pantry Shell. Both suspects were described armed with small guns -- .22 caliber.

Suspect descriptions.

#1 Male/black, mid-20s wearing a black hoodie with a light mustache.

#2 Male/black, wearing a white sweatshirt.

Both male/black suspects fled on foot "heading down Manor.


The crime is reported to have occurred about 6:51 p.m.

Three Dogs Die in House Fire on LaSalle St Near Chestnut Ave, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 10:15 PM Wednesday to a report of a house fire on Lasalle Street just east of the intersection of Chestnut Avenue and LaSalle Street Arlington Heights, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report of a basement fire, but actually the basement was not burning. Police arrived by 10:18 p.m. and reported smoke showing and then reported the back of the house was fully involved with fire.

Engine 4's crew arrived by 10:20 p.m. and reported with fully-involved fire at the back of the house with fire also showing in the garage with the garage door open.

Neighbors reported embers were falling on the roof of a neighboring home, but there was no fire at the house nearby.

Firefighters immediately pulled a 2 1/2-inch line to the back of the house

A second line was requested by 10:27 p.m. Firefighters knocked the bulk of the fire down by 10:31 p.m. but were still attacking flames inside from defensive positions in the backyard.

The fire moved up to the attic but firefighters were able to stop it from breaking through the roof except for a small area near a chimney.

A line was also brought to the garage, and later a master stream was flowing from Tower Ladder 1. There were the fire was fought with three hand lines and an elevated master stream.

Firefighters reported no fire visible at the outside rear by 10:35 p.m. and no fire visible in the basement. There spot fires still burning in the inside of the home.

Firefighters that were interior reported no fire in the entryway, but observed charring from floor to ceiling. There was also charring in the attic.

Visible flames were observed near the chimney and charring was also observed on the roof from the firefighters on the roof. Firefighters on Tower Ladder one also ventilated the roof and knocked down the chimney at the peak of the roof while attempting to access a void space at about 11:00 p.m. Firefighters at the rear were warned of the possible collapse of the chimney onto the ground in the backyard. Firefighters were able to stop the fire at this point from breaking through the roof. Tower 1's crew cleared the overhead hazard by knocking the chimney to the ground with their master stream after firefighters on the ground moved to a safe position.

The time for fire under control was not initially available.

No injuries were initially reported by residents or firefighters. However, unfortunately three dogs perished in the fire.

The fire is under investigation.

Vehicle Burglar Leaves His Apple iPhone at Crime Scene on North Mallard Lane, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police received a report about 12:36 AM Tuesday of a vehicle burglary in the block of 4200 North Mallard Lane Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that two unknown offenders burglarized an unlocked white 2016 Lexus RX350.

The owner of the vehicle witnessed the two unknown offenders enter the unlockd Lexus RX350.

Offender #1 was described as a male/white, about 18 years-old, approximately 6'0" with a slender build, long brown hair and a nose piercing, wearing a grey jacket and blue jeans.

Offender #2 was described as a male but no further description is available.

Offender #1 left his black, Apple iPhone at the scene.

The crime is reported to have occurred on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 between 12:30 AM and 12:35 AM. The elapsed time range including the time the crime could have occurred is 0:05 (hours: minutes).

Infiniti of Hoffman Estates Burglarized by 4 Suspects in an Audi on Golf Rd Near Gannon Dr, Hoffman Estates

Hoffman Estates police received a report about 1:22 AM Wednesday of a commercial burglary at the Infiniti of Hoffman Estates auto dealership, 1075 West Golf Road Hoffman Estates, IL. Police received a report that unknown offender or offenders burglarized an auto dealership, and fled the scene.

The suspects were described as four male/black subjects -- one wearing a mask.

Offenders were riding in a white Audi sedan. The suspects and their vehice were last seen eastbound on Interstate 90, merging on to Route 53 in an unknown direction.

The crime is reported to have occurred 1:22 a.m. and was only about 4,000 feet in a straight line from the Hoffman Estates Police Department headquarters.

There also may have been some criminal activity or suspicious activity at the Mercedes-Benz of Hoffman Estates auto dealership, just northeast of the Infiniti dealership.

Unlocked Honda Odyssey Burglarized on South Bristol, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police received a report about 8:01 AM Monday of a vehicle burglary in the block of 500 South Bristol Lane Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that an unknown offender or offenders entered the victim's unlocked white 2018 Honda Odyssey. The victim's personal belongings were strewn about the vehicle. Reported taken was a small amount of loose change from the center console.

Vehicle Burglary on South Lincoln Lane, Arlington Heights -- Several Vehicle Burglaries in Scarsdale Recently

Arlington Heights police received a report about 8:01 AM Monday of a vehicle burglary in the block of 400 South Lincoln Lane Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that an unknown offender or offenders entered the victim's unlocked black 2014 Chevrolet. The victim's personal belongings were strewn about the vehicle.

Reported taken from the vehicle was a pair of sunglasses valued at approximately $100.

Several vehicles were later seen via video surveillance traveling slowly through the area at the time of the event. Also, a subject was later seen via video surveillance running alongside the vehicles.

The crime is reported to have occurred between Sunday, March 17, 2019 at 8:00 PM and Monday, March 18, 2019 at 8:00 AM. The elapsed time range including the time the crime could have occurred is 12:00 (hours: minutes).

Brick Thrown Through Metra Train Station Window Northwest Highway and Vail Ave, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police received a report about 4:46 AM Wednesday of criminal damage to property at the downtown Metra train station, 45 West Northwest Highway Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that an unknown offender threw a brick paver through the Gateway News Stand window causing the window to break. The brick paver was located outside the building near the broken window. At the time of the police report, it did not appear entry was made into the building.

Stranger "Insinuated" He Would Kill Victims on Bloomington Ave Near Lake Cook Rd, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police responded about 12:16 AM Saturday to a report of a threatening male in the block of 4200 North Bloomington Avenue Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that an unknown offender approached the victims outside their apartment and insinuated he was going to kill them. The victims were able to separate themselves from the offender and enter their apartment without further issue.

The offender was described as a male/white wearing dark clothing.

The crime is reported to have occurred between Friday, March 15, 2019 at 11:30 PM and Saturday, March 16, 2019 at 12:15 AM. The elapsed time range including the time the crime could have occurred is 0:45 (hours: minutes).

Vehicle Burglaries on East Park St Near Beverly Ln, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police received a report about 3:01 AM Monday of a vehicle burglary in the block of 700 East Park Street Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that an unknown offender or offenders entered the victim's unlocked 2012 Jeep Wrangler. The victim's personal belongings were strewn about the vehicle. Reported taken from the vehicle were sunglasses valued at approximately $150.00.
