Barn House Fire at St Charles Farm on Route 64 Near Mary Dr and anderson Rd, Elburn -- Extra Alarm Fire

Elburn police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 2:09 AM Friday to a report of a barn house fire at St Charles Farm, 42W 690 Route 64 Elburn, Il. Engine 305's crew reported a large header and flames showing during response to the scene by 2:11 a.m.

Engine 305's crew requested a Box Alarm by 2:14 a.m. Battalion Chief 305 also requested a first box alarm for tenders by 2:14 a.m. then immediately changed to a second level for tenders. (MABAS Division 13 Box Alarm on Box #4302 for a barnhouse fire)

Large power lines became involved with fire about 2:40 a.m.

Command reported two structures involved, and reported firefighters were trying to protect two other exposures with a defensive operation by 2:52 AM.

Power outages in the area as ComEd has shut down power near the fire scene.

Command reported the fire was contained to the original fire building and one exposure by 3:48 a.m.


The Box Alarms were struck out at 3:50 a.m.

Extrication Crash at Wheeling Road and Willowbrook Drive Wheeling

Wheeling police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 4:21 PM Thursday to a report of an extrication crash, Wheeling Road and Willowbrook Drive Wheeling, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that two people were trapped in a vehicle.

Ambulance 23's crew on arrival reported two vehicles in a crash with one vehicle on its side, and then reports all occupants out of the vehicles by 4:23 PM.

Three patients with one patient likely to be a medical refusal/release.

One patient transported to Glenbrook Hospital about 4:31 PM.

Southbound Wheeling Road was backed up past Hintz Road.

The crash was also reported on Waze.

School Bus Crash Hits Corner Bedroom Wall at Landmeier Rd and Holly Ln, Elk Grove Village

Elk Grove Village police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 7:34 AM Thursday to a report of a school bus crash into a house with no school children on board, Landmeier Road and Holly Lane Elk Grove Village, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a school bus crashed into a house with no school children on board.

The first Elk Grove Village fire crew on arrival reported a school bus in a yard.

At least two people were sleeping in bed(s) near the impact zone at a corner bedroom at the northeast corner of the house.

All 5 people refused medical treatment and ambulance transportation. The two drivers and three people in the house on the northwest corner, and the two drivers initially reported no injuries.

According to Elk Grove Village Police, the school bus was northbound on Ridge Avenue/Holly Lane crossing Landmeier Road when a crash occurred with a black sedan that was eastbound on Landmeier Road.

The school bus veered right, going up on the lawn at a house on the northeast corner of Landmeier Road and Holly Lane. To avoid hitting a car parked on the driver at the next house north, the school bus driver apparently steered back to the left, but the bus cross Holly Lane and circled back to hit a house on the northwest corner of Landmeier Road and Holly Lane. The school bus hit the northeast corner of the house, causing severe damage to walls, windows and part of the roof.

The black sedan, which had temporary license tags had severe front end damage after the crash.

Forcible Entry to Locker with Theft at LA Fitness on Palatine Rd, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police received a report about 6:01 PM Saturday of a locker theft at LA Fitness, 345 East Palatine Road Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that an unknown offender or offenders forced entry into the victim's locked locker and removed the car keys. The victim returned to his vehicle to find the keys on the front seat and cash missing from his wallet.

The crime is reported to have occurred on Saturday, October 14, 2017 between 04:30 PM and 06:00 PM. The elapsed time range including the time the crime could have occurred is 1:30 (hours: minutes).

Press Box Theft at Robert Morris University on South Goebbert Road, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police received a report about 7:01 AM Tuesday of a theft at Robert Morris University Illinois, 2121 South Goebbert Road Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that an unknown offender or offenders forced entry into the football field press box.

Offender(s) removed two portable radios, valued at $200 each, and a pair of binoculars, valued at $300.

The crime is reported to have occurred between Sunday, October 8, 2017 at 11:00 PM and Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 07:00 AM. The elapsed time range including the time the crime could have occurred is 32:00 (hours: minutes).

Driver of Dodge Avenger Flees Police from Milwaukee Ave and Apple Dr, Prospect Heights

Prospect Heights police responded about 8:19 AM Tuesday to a fleeing and eluding case, Milwaukee Avenue and Apple Drive Prospect Heights, IL. Prospect Heights police alerted area police departments that a driver fled police from the intersection of Milwaukee Avenue and Apple Drive, just south of Palatine Road and Milwaukee and just south of Chicago Executive Airport.

Wanted for fleeing and eluding is the driver of a black Dodge Avenger, described as a male/black subject, age 20, with short hair.

The black Dodge Avenger was last seen near Palatine Road/Willow Road and Sanders Road, about one mile from the attempted traffic stop.

The reason for the traffic stop was unknown.

Theft of Pirate Flag from House on Rammer Avenue Near Gregory Street, Arlington Heights

An Arlington Heights resident discovered about 10:31 PM Sunday a theft of a Halloween decoration at his house in the block of 400 South Rammer Avenue Arlington Heights, IL. An unknown offender or offenders took a black and white pirate flag (3'x5') that was hanging from a window.

The theft involved a considerable effort and trespassing, including climbing on part of the victim's house to remove the flag.

The flag was valued at $30. A police report was not filed as of 10:15 p.m. Monday October 16, 2017.

The crime is reported to have occurred on Sunday, October 15, 2017 about 10:30 PM.

Crash with One Person Seriously Injured on NB Route 53 South of Higgins Road, Schaumburg

Illinois State Police police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 5:14 PM Monday to a report of a 5-car crash with injuries, 42.032965, -88.030749 (Route 53 and Higgins Road Schaumburg, Il ) . Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report of a 5-car crash with injuries on northbound Route 53, just south of Higgins Road.

The first fire crew on arrival did not initially confirm a fire, as was reported to 9-11. Command reported two vehicles involved in the crash with one person seriously injured.

Firefighters later confirm there was no vehicle fire.

One transport and several medical refusals were expected about 5:23 PM.

Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a man jumped or or fell from the 20th floor onto the roof of the 6th floor.

The man might have hit a 9th floor balcony during the fall.

House Fire on East Princeton St Near Delgado Dr, Palatine

Palatine police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 5:54 PM Sunday to a report of a house fire at 608 East Princeton Street Palatine, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report of a fire in the basement of a 2-story home.

Engine 82's crew on arrival reported smoke showing from the front of a 2-story home.

Firefighters reported water on the fire by 6:01 PM. Firefighters were chasing hots spots about 20 minutes after the fire was reproted.

No initial reports of any injuries at the scene.

Flood Calls, Vehicle Rescues, Lightning Strikes, House Fires, Record Rainfall in Arlington Heights and Chicagoland

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 8:26 PM Saturday to a report of a two people trapped in a Pontiac Sunfire in rising flood water in the southbound lanes of Arlington Heights Road, just north of Burr Oak Drive, Arlington Heighst Road and Burr Oak Drive Arlington Heights, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received numerous calls related to weather when a record 4.19 inches of rain fell for October 14 at Chicago's official weather station at O'Hare International Airport. Heavier rain fell with amounts of 5-8 inches in Mendota, Plano, Naperville, Glen Ellyn, Downers Grove, Somonauk and the south side of Chicago. The Chicago Riverwalk was flooded Saturday, and remained flooded Sunday morning.

The official rain record beat the previous rain record for any day in October, which was recorded at 3.95 inches on October 3, 1954.

In Arlington Heights, police and firefighters responded to a report of two people stranded in a Pontiac Sunfire in rising flood water in the southbound lanes of Arlington Heights Road, just north of Burr Oak Drive.

There was also a report of other vehicles also stalling out nearby.

At least one northbound vehicle hit the water at high speed, causing a large wake, after emergency vehicles with emergency light flashing were in the area. That vehicle stalled out about 75 yards down the road.

Flooding was also reported on southbound lanes of Arlington Heights Road south of Hintz Road at Suffield Drive, Waterman Avenue south of Kensington Road, and Oakton Street and Yale Avenue -- across the intersection.

Stranded motorists were also reported on Rolhwing Road near Harvest Bible Church in Rolling Meadows, and Highland Boulevard and Jones Road in Hoffman Estates. In Lake Forest people needed rescue from the roof of their vehicle on Deerpath Road under US 41.

Arlington Heights also responded to at least one flooded basement with an electrical hazard, and a flooded below-grade garage with 5 feet of water filling the garage.

In the block of 2600 North Drury Lane firefighters responded to a report of a house struck by lightning followed by a hissing sound and the smell of natural gas. Firefighters discovered a gas leak, shut down the gas leak and ventilated the house. Initially firefighters did not find any evidence of a lightning strike.

A lightning strike of a house on Newhaven Drive in Hawthorn Woods knocked down part of a chimney and started an attic fire about 7:06 p.m. Saturday. The exterior fire was extinguished by 7:20 p.m. A man was initially reported to be possibly injured by falling objects from the chimney before the fire was discovered. Lake Zurich Fire later reported there were no injuries at the fire scene.

A possible lightning strike or water-related short circuit started a small fire in the soffit area of a garage near the front of a house on Whispering Oak Drive in Buffalo Grove about 8:15 p.m. Saturday. Firefighters had to chase smoke in the attic to find the area that was burning. The small fire was extinguished by 8:44 p.m.

Over 250 flights were canceled at O'Hare and 37 flights were canceled at Midway on Saturday October 14, 2017.

House Struck by Lightning, Chimney Falls, Attic Fire on Newhaven Drive, Lake Zurich

Lake Zurich police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 7:06 PM Saturday to a report of a chimney struck by lightning with falling objects from the chimney injuring a man at the house, 3 Newhaven Drive Hawthorn Woods, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a man was injured by a falling chimney after the chimney was struck by lightning. The man was reported to be conscious and walking on his own.

The first fire crew on arrival reported fire showing from the rear of the house with an attic fire.

Engine 321's exterior attack with water on the fire.

A second hose line was led out inside the house with Engine 322's crew while checking for extension of the exterior fire into the house.

Long Grove's tanker crew was delayed by a train.

Battalion Chief 32 reported the fire was knocked by 7:20 PM.

Ladder Tower 341 assigned to raise the main for inspection of the roof and overhaul, although probably not needed for fire suppression.

Shooting Victim Near Santa Cruz Drive and Catalina Drive, Hanover Park

Hanover Park police responded about 3:51 PM Friday to Santa Cruz Drive and Catalina Drive Hanover Park, IL. Police received a report that a person was shot by a male/black, age 19. He shot a person, with a semi-automatic handgun.


The suspects are described as ...

#1) male/black, age 19, armed with a semi-automatic handgun, wearing a white Tommy Hilfiger baseball cap, a medium gray sweatshirt, blue jeans with a red stripe, and white gym shoes, and

#2) female/black, red hair with large bun, wearing a black tank top with a purple bra underneath, and blue jeans.

The suspects were last seen on foot in the area of on Catalina from Santa Cruz.

Illinois State police broadcast the shooting occurred at 4:30 p.m., but the shooting is believed to have occurred about 3:50 p.m.

Chlorine/Mix Leak on West Wacker Drive, Chicago -- Level I Hazmat

Chicago police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 10:00 AM Friday to a report of a chemical smell and chemical release from a chemical reaction involving chlorine in a cleaning process., 77 West Wacker Drive Chicago, Il. Police and firefighters responded to a report of a chemical smell and chemical release from a chemical reaction involving chlorine in a cleaning process.

A fire crew on arrival reported a chlorine leak and requested a Level I Hazmat at 10:01 a.m.

WIND SW 8 MPH

An EMS Plan 1 requested on orders of A42 at 10:05 a.m.

Two patients were initially transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital; later a total of six patients were transported Code Yellow. There was one person that refused any medical treatment.

Traffic was blocked in both directions for Lower Wacker Drive by 10:08 a.m. Upper Wacker Drive was also closed in the area.


Battalion 1 reported 5 gallons of chlorine and 5 gallons of acid were mixed on the roof or near the roof on the top floor of the building.

Battalion 1 later reported a 55 gallon chlorine drum with an inhibitor had been washed out, and a chemical reaction occurred.

Engine 107's crew brought the oxygen bus 8-8-11 to the scene.

Building use is OK, according to Chicago Fire Department -- reported CFD Media at 11:10 a.m.

Altercation, Battery at Liquor Store on Golf Rd Near Goebbert Rd, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police responded about 8:58 PM Tuesday to a report of an altercation and battery at Golf Liquors, 606 East Golf Road Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that unknown offender got into a verbal altercation with the victim, grabbed the victim's arms then punched the victim in the chest.

The offender was described as a white male, 30 years old, 6'01, 205 LBS with a muscular build, brown hair, tattoos on right upper arm and forearm, wearing light blue t-shirt and jeans.

The crime is reported to have occurred on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 08:57 PM.
