Northbrook Woman Arrested: Aggravated Battery Of Child In Her Care In Mount Prospect

On Monday, December 23, 2013, investigators from the Mount Prospect Police Department arrested Tamara L. Nelson, 19, of 2345 White Oak Drive, Northbrook, on one count of aggravated battery of a child.

On December 22, 2013, the Mount Prospect Police Department was notified of an infant who had been brought into Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge with head injuries. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the infant was being watched and under the immediate care of Ms. Nelson when the injuries occurred. Once the injuries were discovered, the mother of the infant transported the child to the hospital. The Department of Child and Family Services has also been notified of this incident and has initiated an investigation. The infant was treated and released from the hospital.

Judge Cerone-Marise set bond for Ms. Nelson at $20,000.00 "D". Ms. Nelson is set to appear at the 3rd District Circuit Court of Cook County in Rolling Meadows on January 17, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. in room 108.

Mount Prospect Police: The public is reminded that criminal charges are not evidence of guilt and that all defendants in a criminal case are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
