Crash With Injuries , Rolling Meadows

Rolling Meadows police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 7:01 PM Monday to a report of crash with injuries at Kirchoff Road and Meadow Drive Rolling Meadows, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a person was ejected from a pickup truck on Kirchoff Road at Meadow Drive.

Firefigher/paramedics on arrival to the scene reported a three-vehicle crash with one person ejected. One victim was down in the roadway near the left turn lane from eastbound Kirchoff Road to northbound Meadow Drive.

Rolling Meadows Rescue Ambulance 15's crew rushed the patient to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge.

According to witnesses at the scene, a Ford SUV was stopped westbound on Kirchoff Road waiting to turn left into the Marathon gas station. A pickup truck was traveling eastbound on Kirchoff Road. the witness reported that a Dodge Ram hit the Ford SUV and then the driver of the pickup truck fell out of the truck as the truck continued eastbound on Kirchoff.

The pickup truck hit the Ford SUV off center, head-on -- causing the Dodge Ram to lose its left front fender, the driver's door, and the left front wheel. The wheel flew off to the south side of Kirchoff Road while the vehicle continued eastbound until it came to rest in the yard of the Community Church of Rolling Meadows, 2720 Kirchoff Road.

The driver of the Ford SUV suffered apparent minor injuries. He was evaluated by a second Rolling Meadows firefighter/paramedic crew from Rescue Ambulance 16 and released. He apparently signed a medical release form. A young male passenger, was not showing any injuries, as of 20 minutes after the crash.

Rolling Meadows police closed down Kirchoff Road for an accident investigation Sunday night.
