Fire in Dust Collector on East Touhy Ave, Des Plaines, IL
Des Plaines, IL police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 1:10 PM Wednesday to a report of a fire at United Displaycraft, 333 East Touhy Avenue Des Plaines, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report of a fire in the dust collector in the center of the building.
Des Plaines Fire Department's Battalion Chief 61 reported a little smoke showing from the dock area a large commercial manufacturing building at about 1:15 pm.
The fire was reported to be located about 150 feet inside the large building in a dust collector.
The fire declared "out" at 1:23 p.m.
Fire command a MABAS Mobile Ventilation Unit at about 1:31 p.m. to ventilate the building.
Employees were evacuated from the building, but apparently there were no injuries at the scene (no confirmed).
