Storm Takes Large Tree Branch Down onto Car; Numerous Power Outages with , Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 4:43 PM Monday to Euclid Avenue and Waterman Avenue Arlington Heights, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a tree was on fire with power lines were down between Waterman Avenue and Rand Road after a storm passed quickly through Arlington Heights.

Euclid Avenue was blocked with a power line just west of Rand Road.

About 4:15 p.m. firefighters responded to an activated fire alarm at Best Buy likely due to power fluctuations. Aldi, Caputo's are without power.

The intersection of Dryden and Kensington is also without power -- stoplights were not operating immediately after the storm.

About 4:15 p.m. firefighter/paramedics responded to a line down across the street at Ivy and Burke.

About 4:16 p.m. firefighters responded to an address near Rollins Road near Euclid Avenue to a report of a power line down.

About 4:17 p.m. firefighter/paramedics responded to a report of a tree on a car on Dryden Avenue north of Euclid Avenue.

A car was hit by a large downed tree branch in the southbound lane of Dryden Avenue just north of Euclid Avenue. The female driver was not injured and was able to get out of her car on her own.

Power lines were also down a little south of the downed tree branch closer to Euclid Avenue.
