Numerous Personal Injury and Property Damage Crashes in Northwest Suburbs

Police and firefighter/paramedics received reports of numerous crashes Monday while a Winter Storm Warning was activated with high winds, sleet, freezing rain, and snow.

Long Grove firefighters responded to a crash at Route 83 and Aptakisic Road at about 9:20 a.m. Two cars were involved with four vehicle occupants signing medical refusals at the scene.

Hoffman Estates firefighters responded about 9:38 a.m. to a report of a crash with entrapment on eastbound I-90 directly under the Barrington Road overpass. Engine 23's crew reported no entrapment at the crash. The crash possibly involved a semi-trailer truck and two passenger cars with one of the cars with the driver's door obstructed. The extent of injuries were unknown at I-90 crash. One victim of the crash requested firefighter/paramedics return to the scene after feeling symptoms about 11:10 a.m. about 90 minutes later.

Deerfield-Bannockburn firefighters transported one patient to Lake Forest Hospital after a panel van rolled into the ditch off of the entrance ramp from Half Day Road to the northbound Tri-State lanes about 10:00 a.m.

One vehicle rolled on it's side on northbound Route 53 near Dundee Road. Palatine firefighter/paramedics arrived about 11:04 a.m. and reported one occupant in the rolled vehicle. The motorist was likely to sign a medical refusal.

Numerous vehicles have crashed into walls and guardrails on expressways and highways or have run off the road into ditches.
