The Cook County sheriff's office and Morton Grove Fire Department responded about 6:25 a.m. Tuesday to a fatal hit-and-run pedestrian incident. Cook County Sheriff's police reported late Tuesday afternoon that they are talking with a driver who may have been involved in an apparent hit-and-run vehicle vs pedestrian incident that resulted in the death of a Niles woman on Golf Road in the Village of Golf. The victim has been identified as 26-year-old Izah Malik.
Her body was found as officers responded to a 6:25 a.m. call that the body had been found at Golf Road and Overlook Drive. The body showed signs of having been struck by a vehicle, according to the sheriff's office. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police did not immediately release the description of an offending vehicle.
