The Room Place Harlem Furniture Distribution Warehouse Destroyed by Fire in Woodridge

Lemont and Woodridge police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 5:10 PM Thursday to a report of a warehouse fire at TheRoomPlace Harlem Furniture Distribution Center 2500 Internationale Parkway, Woodridge Il. The fire involves a warehouse about 475 feet by 620 feet. The warehouse was fully involved with fire and has been destroyed by the fire.

Weather conditions at the fire scene included a thunderstorm in the area with winds 8-28 mph and gusting as high as 35 mph recorded at Lewis University Airport in Romeoville.

The entire building was engulfed in flames by 7:20 p.m. after reports of wall collapses and roof collapses.

Heavy black smoke or a "header" is drifting from southwest to northeast with the west winds in the area near Interstate 55 toward Chicago.

The extra alarm fire was elevated to a 4th alarm at about 7:33 pm.
