Townhouse Apartment Fire on Glenview Ct, Palatine -- Extra Alarm Fire

Palatine police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 11:58 AM Friday to a report of townhouse apartment fire at 1054 North Glenview Ct Palatine, Il. As of 9:30 a.m. there was no confirmation on any injuries from a serious townhouse/apartment fire reported just before midnight Friday.

Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report from a resident that the back of the townhouse was on fire.

Police on arrival reported the roof is on fire by 12:01 a.m.

Engine 81's crew on arrival reports reports a row of townhomes with fire showing and heavy smoke coming from the second floor by 12:03 a.m.

Engine 81's crew was immediately off the engine with a line to the fire.

Engine 81's crew reported residents say that everyone is out by 12:05 a.m. A precautionary primary search was underway.

Firefighters brought a 2 1/2-inch line out to the fire.

A second line was brought to the front of the building by 12:06 a.m.

An interior crew reported that the original fire was knocked down by Engine 81's 2 1/2-inch line by 2:12 a.m.

A third line to the fire floor by 12:14 a.m. for extension to the attic and a second apartment unit.

A crew reported making progress and pulling ceiling on the third floor by 12:16 a.m. Smoke was still pushing from the roof at 12:17 a.m.

A crew reported moving a hose and putting it in through the eave.

Engine 84's reported they have fire above them at the unit next to the original fire unit -- just to the east at 12:19 a.m.

Engine 84's crew requested another line to the second floor by 12:19 a.m.

A Box Alarm was requested at 12:21 a.m. on orders of Palatine Battalion Chief 8.

Fire broke through the roof in the unit just to the east of the original fire unit by 12:22 a.m.

Smoke was still pushing from the second unit on the third floor and possibly pushing from a third unit on the third floor at 12:28 a.m.

An interior crew reported they can still here popping above the second unit in the attic, and requested pike poles to pull the ceiling at 12:33 a.m.

Rolling Meadows Engine 16 was the first Box Unit in staging at 12:33 a.m.

Fire was reported through the roof again at 12:36 a.m.

Making progress at 12:40 a.m.

Secondary search underway by 12:42 a.m.

Fire is knocked in the original fire unit by 12:49 a.m.

Crews were opening up walls and ceilings for any unexposed extension of the fire.

Crews were working on residual fire and hot spots at 1:07 a.m.

Tower Ladder 85's crew was assigned to hit some fire near the chimney at 1:12 a.m. as soon as interior crews cleared the area. All interior crews cleared out away from the chimney by 1:13 a.m.

The roof in the back starting to "light up" again at 1:31 a.m. Crews were still chasing hot spots after 1:45 a.m.

An ambulance was requested to the scene by Engine 81's crew at 2:52 a.m.

Engine 81's was dispatched to respond non-urgent for a re-kindle at 5:23 a.m.
