Power Failure in Downtown; Train Gates Stuck Down in Downtown Arlington Heights After Storms

Arlington Heights police responded about 1:11 PM Thursday to a report that all train gates were down at Arlington Heights Road and Northwest Highway Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that
all train gates in downtown Arlington Heights were malfunctioning in the down position.

Parts of downtown Arlington Heights were without power from storms that hit the area Wednesday night and early Thursday morning.

The entire Arlington Towne Square at Sigwalt Street and Evergreen Avenue was without power much of the day during business hours Thursday.

Businesses closed included CMX Arlington Heights (Cinemas), Wildfish, Bath & Body Works, Starbuck, Athletico and more. The problem may have involved an electric room and HVAC system near the theater.

Early Thursday, traffic signals were also out at Northwest Highway and Evergreen Avenue.
