Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report of a car into a pond at the northeast corner of Coldspring Road and Palatine Frontage Road.

Police on arrival reported nobody is in the car.

Battalion Chief 1 confirms by 3:54 p.m. that one driver was out of the car prior to arrival. All outside dive teams were immediately returned.

Apparently, the female driver was in a small parking area, when her vehicle lurched forward, and she may have hit the accelerator instead of the brake. Her car went through an iron fence and dropped front first down a 15-foot wall into the retention pond.
