Laundry Room Fire at Hotel on Algonquin Rd Near Arlington Heights Rd, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 9:11 AM Wednesday to a report of an automatic fire alarm at Courtyard Chicago Arlington Heights/South, 100 West Algonquin Road Arlington Heights, Il. Firefighters on arrival reported smoke showing from the laundry room. Staff reported they extinguished the fire with a fire extinguisher, but Engine 3's crew reported that a lot of smoke persists. A remaining small fire was extinguished by firefighters and the sprinkler system. Firefighters checked for extension of fire nearby on the first floor, and Engine 2's crew checked for extension and safety of hotel guests on the second floor. Firefighters reported no victims on a primary search and no extension on the second floor by 9:33 a.m. The fire was also declared out by 9:33 a.m.

The sprinkler system was activated near the fire near a dryer.
