Trick Or Treat Shove At The Door On Hartford Court, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police received a report about 7:15 PM Wednesday of a battery  in the 2500 block of Hartford Court. Police received a report that four male teens got out of a pickup truck, rang the door bell, pushed the resident, and tried to grab the candy bowl. The four subjects ran back to the pickup truck and drove away.

Offenders were last seen driving away toward Waterman Avenue or John Hersey High School. The pickup truck was described as dark blue, with big tires and "read loud."  

The offenders were described as male/white subjects in their late teens. One was wearing a brown work coat.

Buffalo Grove police received a report about 4:19 PM Wednesday of a vehicle burglary in the 500 block of Lyon Drive. Police received a report of a vehicle burglary. Police received a report that a radar detector was taken from a vehicle overnight.

Police and firefighter/paramedics reported to two injured in a two-vehicle crash. One vehicle was resting on its side, but no crash victims were trapped in the vehicle.

Bomb Threat At Home Depot On Meacham Rd, Elk Grove Village

Elk Grove Village police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 11:08 AM Wednesday are on the scene of a of a bomb threat at Home Depot, 600 Meacham Road. Police received a report of a bomb threat which apparently gave authorities reason to  search the Home Depot in Elk Grove Village.

Cook County Bomb Squad is on the scene with dogs that sniff for explosives. Authorities were also searching the property for any suspicious devices.

Two Of Four Nabbed By Police In Retail Theft At Target On East Rand Rd, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police responded about 9:12 PM Tuesday to a report of a retail theft in progress at Target, 1700 East Rand Road. Police received a report that a group of juveniles with knives were cutting security cables in the electronics department. Two of the subjects had the knives. One was wearing a black-and-white hat, and another subject was wearing red shoes and white clothing.

A total of four male/Hispanics, 17-18 year of age, were reported involved in the retail theft. One subject put headphones in his pants and one subject put merchandise in his sweatshirt pocket.

Subjects headed toward the front of the store as police arrived. Two were apprehended outside, but one ran and escaped police by running south across Rand Road and then northwest on Rand Road. One suspect was not located. Two suspects were transported in custody to Arlington Heights Police Department Headquarters.

Suspicious Activity, Retail Theft At Speedway At Arlington Heights Rd And Palatine Rd, Arlington Heights Police Department

Arlington Heights police received a report about 3:23 AM Monday of criminal damage to property at the Speedway Gas Station, 1902 North Arlington Heights Road. Police received a report that a large group of teens entered the Speedway building and were openly joking about robbing the gas station, and apparently took money from a change jar.

The group left in a black Cadillac and a white Mitsubishi Eclipse. It is unknown if the Cadillac was an SUV or sedan.

All subjects in the group (about 8-13 subjects) were described as male/black wearing black and blue. They were also talking about gangs and shootings that they were saying took place earlier this week.

Suspicious Person At The Door On Circle Hill Drive, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police responded about 9:07 PM Tuesday of a suspicious incident in the 400 block of Circle Hill Drive. Police received a report that a man knocked on the door and said he was from the electric company. The resident told him that if he had paperwork, he should slide it under the door. The man refused and fled out the apartment building.

The subject was described as a male/black, 20-30 years-old, tall and slender, wearing a white hat, white pants, and a black or blue jacket. The subject was last seen running to an apartment across the street.

Palatine police responded about 1:34 PM Tuesday of an attempted burglary in the  1100 block of West Chatham Drive. Police received  report that a man pushed his way into a residence of an elderly victim and said he had to check the water. The suspect immediately fled after ransacking a bedroom.

The offender was described as a male/Hispanic who fled in a black vehicle.

Police Pursuit Of Golf Cart: Stolen Golf Cart "Just Occurred" From The Buffalo Grove Golf Club On Raupp Blvd

Buffalo Grove police responded about 4:06 PM Monday to a report of theft of a golf cart from the Buffalo Grove Golf Club, 48 Raupp Boulevard. Police received a report that a golf cart was stolen from the Buffalo Grove Golf Club golf course, and was last seen northbound from the first hole. The offender was described as a youth, 10 years-old about 4' 2".

Police reported they were in pursuit about 4:22 p.m. of the suspect driving northbound on the golf cart.

Hazmat Response For Leaking Diesel Fuel From Truck That Hit Building On North Kennicott Ave

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 12:28 PM Monday to a hazmat level 1 with an explosion risk at a warehouse building at 3196 North Kennicott Avenue. police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a truck hit the side of a building and ruptured a valve -- causing about 50 gallons of diesel fuel to leak with some of the leak into the warehouse building.

A local area near the building is evacuated near Kennicott Avenue and University Drive and also Kennicott Avenue and Dundee Road.

Firefighters are working to stop the leak and checking explosive limit levels to monitor the chance of an explosion.

Possible Cougar Sighting In Buffalo Grove Near Buffalo Grove Rd And Aptakisic Rd

Buffalo Grove police responded about 5:34 AM Monday of an animal complaint on Buffalo Grove Road north of LaSalle Lane. Police received a report that a citizen possibly saw a cougar run into the residential neighborhood north of Lasalle Lane near Buffalo Grove Road. No report of any sighting by police after Buffalo Grove police checked the neighborhood.

The latest previous cougar sightings were reported in Schaumburg late September 2012, and Barrington Hills in early September 2012.

Woman Charged With Filing False Police Report Regarding An Armed Robbery Call Near John Rolfe Drive, Schaumburg

Schaumburg police responded about 11:18 AM Saturday to an armed robbery 2337 John Rolfe Drive Schaumburg, il Police received a report of an armed robbery by a man with a knife wearing a white shirt with a red bird on the front. The 'victim' reported the 'offender' took the woman's wallet containing cash.

The victim reported that the offender might have fled behind a 7-ELEVEN or a Hispanic grocery store nearby. An Extra Value wine & Liquor store is also located nearby.

The 'offender' was described as a male/white in his 30's or 40's with blond hair shaved on the side with a mohawk, wearing a white T-shirt with a Cardinal logo on the shirt, jeans and combat boots that covered his shins. 

The 'offender' was reported to be armed with a pocket knife about four inches long.

A black wrist type wallet was reported taken with about $247 cash, a child's social security card, a LINK card and other cards.

Police apparently learned that the report was false and transported the woman in custody to Schaumburg Police Department Headquarters.

Arlington Heights police assisted with a K-9 search. Hoffman Estate police and Streamwood police also assisted Schaumburg police.

Stranger Attempts To Enter House On North Prospect Manor, Mount Prospect

Mount Prospect police responded about 7:17 PM Sunday to a report of a residential burglary attempt that just occurred in the 300 block of North Prospect Manor. Police received a report that a resident was in the house when an unknown subject opened the screen door and the inside door and then left.

Police arrived to search the neighborhood and noticed a Comcast truck in the street. No word on whether the Comcast employee went to the wrong house or if there was some suspicious activity.
