Brush Fire in Deer Grove Forest Preserve on Ela Rd Just North of Northwest Highway Barrington

Barrington police and Barrington-Countryside firefighter/paramedics responded about 12:27 PM Sunday to a report of a house on fire near Ela Road and Northwest Highway Barrington, Il. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a brown house was on fire on Ela Road just north of Northwest Highway. Firefighters on arrival immediately upgraded the call to a working fire response, but were initially reporting a brush fire with no confirmed structure fire. There was also possibly a controlled or prescribed burn underway in the west end of Deer Grove Forest Preserve, but the fire may have gotten out of control. Arlington Heights police arrested a suspected DUI driver 9:07 PM Saturday near Just tires, 221 West Rand Road Arlington Heights, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 7:52 p.m. to a report of a crash with a pole and/or tree. Upon arrival police and firefighter/paramedics discovered one vehicle involved in a crash with heavy front-end damage. Arlington Heights police received a report about 1:31 PM Thursday of a suspicious man in the block of 400 South Walnut Avenue Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that an unknown offender was observed unlawfully entering a residence back yard. The male looked around the back yard before approaching the front door of the residence. The male did not knock on the door or ring the doorbell. The male was last seen leaving the area in a grey 2009 Chevy with an Illinois license plate. Smoke Report Turns Out to Be Malicious Discharge of Fire Extinguisher at Multi-Family Building Ridge Ave and Eastman St, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police received a report about 9:16 PM Sunday of criminal damage to property in the block of 500 West Eastman Street Arlington Heights, IL. Police and firefighters responded to a report of "smell of smoke" and white smoke in the basement laundry room area of an apartment building. Firefighters first entered the basement and confirmed a haze in the air. Firefighters soon discovered that the haze was caused by a malicious discharge of a fire extinguisher. A dry chem fire extinguisher was left on the floor near the basement laundry room. Police received a report from firefighters that an unknown offender or offenders unlawfully discharged a fire extinguisher near a laundry room in an apartment common area.
