Cook County Sheriff's Police Stop Burglary In Progress On Kennedy Drive, Des Plaines

Cook County Sheriff's Police stopped a burglary in progress Tuesday and were able to nab a suspect in another burglary in the area.

After hearing suspicious noises, a neighbor called police at about 1:40 p.m. Tuesday to investigate the apartment next door in the 8900 block of Kennedy Drive of unincorporated Maine Township. Upon arrival, Sheriff's Police caught an offender in the apartment amidst a foiled burglary attempt. A search of the offender uncovered a single-handle lug nut iron, screwdriver and pocket knife. He also had jewelry and a set of car keys belonging to a stolen car in the adjoining driveway. The owner of the vehicle was contacted and the vehicle was towed.
