Home Invasion On Piper Ln, Prospect Heights; Suspect Arrested At Howard Johnson In Elk Grove Village

Prospect Heights police responded about 3:04 AM Wednesday to a report of a home invasion in the block of 600 Piper Lane Prospect Heights, IL. Police received a report a female offender knocked on the door, and attacked residents in the apartment. When residents answered the door, the offender allegedly sprayed them with mace or pepper spray. The offender took piggy banks and an Apple iPad.

Police were looking for a female/black, about 20-years-old, 5'3" - 5'4" with pinkish-red hair, wearing a black tank top and pink yoga pants. The subject fled in a silver Toyota.

About 5:52 a.m. the victim reported that the iPad was located with the Apple Find My iPad feature near Higgins Road and Commerce Drive in Elk Grove Village. Apparently the victim drove to the area of the location that was indicated by the Apple Find my iPad service, and spotted the silver Toyota.

Elk Grove Village police and Cook County Sheriff's police were called to the scene because some of the locations of the iPad, indicated by GPS tracking, were possibly in unincorporated areas.

Elk Grove Village police found the subject at the Howard Johnson Inn and Suites Elk Grove Village O'Hare at about 6:15 a.m. The Apple iPad and two piggy banks were also located.

The female suspect was transported in custody to Elk Grove Village Police Department Headquarters.
