Teens Break Another Teen's Jaw Near Frontier Days Saturday Night In Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police received a report about 10:00 PM Saturday of suspicious activity in the soccer fields just east of Recreation Park, 500 East Miner Street Arlington Heights, IL. Police received a report that something appeared to be happening in the soccer fields just east of the carnival midway at Arlington Heights Frontier Days. The carnival worker reported that kids were running around the soccer fields and something didn't seem right.

When police arrived, they learned that an injured male teen was attacked by three teens. The 15-year-old male from Chicago said he and his friends were talking to a group of girls when words were exchanged with unknown attackers. One of the teens struck the Chicago boy two times in the face while two other teens grabbed at him and kicked him. The victim reports that he was struck first by the attackers.

The teen victim was observed to have had a cut lip, but he refused medical treatment or transportation by paramedics. Regarding the medical refusal, authorities contacted the victim's parents, who also declined medical treatment for the injury. When the boy got home to Chicago, he complained of jaw pain, and then received medical attention and discovered he had a fractured jaw.

No arrests or charges have been filed, but investigation of leads continues. Police apparently do not want to release a description of the offenders at this time.

Police believe the attackers were motivated to attack aggressively after seeing the Chicago boy talking to the girls.
