Mother Of Alleged Domestic Battery Victim Finds Cannabis In Offender's Vehicle; Domestic Battery, Drug Charges Result

Arlington Heights police responded on Thursday to a report of a domestic disturbance in the block of 1700 North Walnut Avenue Arlington Heights, IL. The mother of a victim reporting domestic violence went to retrieve her daughter's cell phone in the alleged offender's vehicle. While retrieving the cell phone, she found a large plastic bag of Cannabis. The accused, James Bushell, was charged with domestic battery and misdemeanor possession of Cannabis (34 grams).

On July 5, 2013 police responded back to the neighborhood (call of unknown nature) and recovered a large bag with two smaller bags inside on block away from the location of the call on July 4, 2013. One bag contained about 34 grams of ecstasy (MDMA), and another bag contained about 454 grams of Cannabis.

In total James Bushell, of the 1700 block of North Walnut Avenue was charged with misdemeanor possession of cannabis, domestic battery, possession of a controlled substance, possession of Cannabis, and possession of Cannabis with intent to deliver.

Cook County Judge Jill Cerone Marisie set bail at $50,000 for James Bushell and ordered him to submit to a drug-monitoring program with a 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. curfew, and order him not to contact the alleged victim or her family.

Bushell is scheduled in Cook County Circuit Court on August 26, 2013.
