Gas Leak Reported At House Under Construction At Weiland Rd And Pauline Ave, Buffalo Grove

Buffalo Grove police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 6:28 AM Tuesday to a report of a gas main leak at Weiland Road and Pauline Avenue Buffalo Grove, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a construction worker arrived where a house was under construction, and discovered a gas main was leaking. A pipe to the house appeared to be broken. The hissing could be heard more than 50 feet away from the leak, which was on the northeast corner of Weiland Road and Pauline Avenue.

Firefighter/paramedics reported the leak appeared to be stopped by about 6:43 a.m. Firefighters usually use a special putty to temporarily stop these type of leaks, but this was not confirmed at this time.

NICOR was expected to arrive for repair the leak. Expect some road blocks and traffic delays in the area.
