The highest temperatures today at about 97°F are expected to be about 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Temperatures tonight are expected to be in the 80s much of the night, but not quite as hot as last night.
The humidity is expected to drop, which is partly the reason there is no Heat Advisory in effect. Heat still has the potential to affect the elderly and children -- especially in schools without adequate air conditioning. Conditions may get dry enough for a Red Flag warning day for wildland fire risk.
Chicago weather radar is mostly clear this morning. Most of Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, Indiana and Michigan are clear of clouds. Some patchy clouds are located over the northwest suburbs and west suburbs of Chicago this morning.
