Extra Alarm For Ambulances Called As Precaution After Student Distributes Prescription Medication To Classmates At Antioch Upper Grade School

Antioch police and firefighter/paramedics responded to Antioch Upper Grade School, 800 Highview Drive, about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday and activated an EMS Box Alarm after it was reported that a student distributed a prescription medication to some friends.

As a precaution paramedics were call and Antioch firefighter/paramedics activated a Life Safety Box, which brought six additional ambulances from neighborhing communities. Several students were transported to area hospitals.

Rescue ambulances from Lake Villa, Fox Lake, Spring Grove, Grayslake, Round Lake and Newport Township responded. Students were transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center and possibly at least one other hospital.
