Historical Museum Presents A Speakeasy Fundraiser “A Celebration Of The Decades: The Roaring 1920s” On Nov. 15

Come as a gangster or silent film star, dress as a flapper or come as you are to the Arlington Heights Historical Society's Speakeasy FUNdraiser "A Celebration of the Decades: the Roaring 1920s." The event is Friday, November 15, 7:00 p.m. at the Metropolis Ballroom, 6 S. Vail Ave. Music and dancing are by The Flat Cats, a swinging jazz and blues band from Chicago. The event includes appetizers, open bar, silent auction and raffle. Guest Master of Ceremonies is Charlie Beck, executive director of the Metropolis Theatre. Costumes are encouraged but not required.

Passwords are for sale, not tickets. Get your password for $100 per person, in person at the Arlington Heights Historical Museum office, 110 W. Fremont, Tuesday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and at the Heritage Gallery, 112 W. Fremont, Friday through Sunday, 1:30 to 4:30 p.m., online at www.ahmuseum.org or by calling 847-255-1225.

The silent auction includes a one week stay for four in Hawaii, Schwinn Cruiser bicycle, paintings by Jack Musich of local businesses, tickets to entertainment venues all around the Chicagoland area, the Daily Herald's front page press plate of the Blackhawk's 2013 Stanley Cup Champions, and many other items so generously donated by businesses and individuals.

Event proceeds assist with restoration of the historic homes on the Museum grounds and funding upcoming exhibits in the Heritage Gallery. The music sponsor for this event is Wisdom Investments,
