Arlington Heights Weather Forecast: High Only 18 Today, Wind Chill High 9; Snow Starts About 3 Am Sunday

Chicagoland weather radar is all clear at about 9:24 a.m. Saturday. Snow is forecast to start after 3:00 a.m. Sunday and continue through about 5:00 a.m. Monday. The heaviest snowfall rate is expected between 6:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. Sunday. Snow accumulation is expected to be about 1.5 inches with the heaver snowfall lightening by about 11:00 p.m. Sunday night. Some freezing rain is possible

Satellite images show clear skies over northern and central Illinois, southern Wisconsin, and eastern Iowa. Clear skies are forecast all daylight hours Saturday with clouds increasing at about 9:00 p.m. and snow starting at about 3:00 a.m. If cloud cover comes earlier, lows won't be as low as forecast.

Today's high is expected to only hit 18 degrees at about 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The overnight low Friday/Saturday was 7 degrees, which coincided with the wind chill low of -7 degrees at 6:52 a.m.

The Saturday/Sunday low is expected to be 11 degrees from 7:00 p.m. to midnight. Temperatures will hold at about 12 degrees from midnight until about 5:00 a.m. Sunday's high is expected to be 27 degrees at about 9:00 p.m. -- otherwise holding around 25-26 degrees during the day Sunday with snow.
