Arlington Heights Weather Forecast: Bitter Cold With Wind Chills Below Zero Tonight And Saturday Morning, Snow (2.3") All Day Sunday

Chicagoland weather radar shows a thin band of very light precipitation running from Lasalle and Ottawa and running northeast through the south side of Chicago. The band is heading northeast. No precipitation in the northwest suburbs is forecast until Saturday/Sunday about midnight. Total snowfall of about 2.3 inches is expected from midnight Saturday/Sunday through Monday at 5:00 a.m.

Satellite images show that most of Illinois is under clouds. Most of Iowa and central-south Wisconsin is clear. Mostly cloudy conditions are forecast to start clearing out at about 6:00 p.m. tonight. The clouds during the day and the clearing at night bring colder temperatures. We are somewhat saved from even worse bitter cold because of the lack of snow cover.

Winds are forecast to be steady from the northwest at about 9-11 mph the next 24 hours with some 15 mph gusts Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.

The wind chill high today is 9 degrees. The wind chill low Saturday morning is -5 from 5:00 a.m. until 8:00 a.m. The wind chill high for Saturday is forecast at 10 degrees from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 16 degrees at 9:00 p.m. as winds from the NNW drop to about 2 mph.
