Elk Grove Village police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 8:40 PM Wednesday to a report of a natural gas leak near Devon Avenue and Nicholas Boulevard Elk Grove Village, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report of a natural gas leak and found a serious release
Engine 9, Engine 8, Tower 7, HazMat 8, the Battalion Chief and several other units are on the scene.
Devon Avenue has been blocked in both directions.
There are some buildings with the odor of gas inside buildings, and at least one evacuation was underway.
NICOR was requested to expedite to the scene. The gas can be heard rushing out of the leak.
