Freezing Rain Advisory While Air Temperature Is Above Freezing, Rain Continues Until About Midnight

After multiple reports of freezing surfaces in northern Illinois, the National Weather Service has issued a Freezing Rain Advisory. Numerous ambulance calls were dispatch tonight for people who had fallen in parking lots or sidewalks. The temperature has actually risen since 5:52 p.m. from 37 degrees to 39 degrees. the temperature is expected to remain above freezing until about 4:00 p.m. Saturday. Sunday might hit 40 degrees at about 4:00 p.m.

Rain is expected to end tonight about midnight with some lingering drizzle until about noon Sunday. Chicagoland weather radar shows moderate precipitation moving northeast in most of northeast Illinois and northwest Indiana. The changeover to snow is up near Madison, Wisconsin.
