Farmers' Market Beings Saturday June 7 Under Management Of Arlington Heights Historical Society

The Farmers' Market returns Saturday, June 7 with the Arlington Heights Historical Society as the new market manager. The Market will maintain the same balance of foods and products, and will be held in the parking lot right across the street from the Museum, at the corner of Vail Avenue and Fremont Street, every Saturday, June 7 through October 18, from 7:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

Vendor offerings will include fresh produce, plants, vegetables, meats (including Bison), olives, eggs, breads, pastries, herbs, flowers, cheese, jellies and honey. A vendor that provides knife sharpening services also will be at the market.

Founder and manager of the market, Claudia Starck, generously offered the operation of the market to the Historical Society. Claudia single-handedly ran the market for 14 years as a gift to the community. She has now made another gift to her village by giving it to the Historical Society to generate funds to manage the collections and programs at the museum and at the same time, offering high quality, nutritious food source to our community.

The Farmers Market is an ever changing experience as new produce becomes available throughout the growing season and new events are planned through the year. Check out vendors and events at the new website, AHFarmersMarket.com. For more information about the Farmers Market, call the Museum at 847-255-1225.
