Rollover Crash With Injuries After Reckless Driver Report And Hit-And-Run , Hoffman Estates
Hoffman Estates police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 6:59 PM Saturday to a report of crash with injuries at Route 72 and Beverly Road Hoffman Estates, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report from East Dundee police that a car jumped the median, rolled over and landed upright in the wooded area just west of the entrance to Beverly Lake.
Police closed down westbound Route 72 at about 7:08 p.m. Firefighters/paramedics on the scene reported the victim was under the car. After stabilizing the vehicle, the victim, a man in his 30s, was extricated by about 7:15 p.m. and transported to St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates with non-life-threatening injuries.
Firefighters brought chain saws and extrication tools into the wooded area during the extrication operation. Only one person was in the vehicle which was reported to be about 60 feet off of the road.
Police had been following a vehicle matching the description of the crashed vehicle, which was involved in a hit-and-run crash at Main Street and River Street in East Dundee and which was also involved in a make-our-own-case call for a reckless driver.
There was an unconfirmed report of a police chase, but there was no known multi-police agency pursuit underway at the time.
