5 Arrested After Firing Handgun Into The Ground At A Party Near Catalina Dr, Hanover Park

Hanover Park police responded about 3:50 AM Saturday to a report of shots fired near the block of 1200 Catalina Drive Hanover Park , IL. Police responded and discovered several shell casings in the grass in the front of a townhome/apartment on Court O about one block away from the Catalina Drive address.

Police initially attempted to speak with suspects in a townhouse residence on Catalina Drive, but got no answer at the apartment.

Later police spoke with a man they identified as Eddie Bueno, age 21, and learned that Bueno owned a gun that was still inside the residence on Catalina Drive.

Eventually police had a total of five men in custody after one of the men refused to come out, and a NIPAS EST (Northern Illinois Police Alarm System Emergency Service Team) police tactical team responded to resolve the situation. Police investigators received approval of the charges of felony reckless discharge of a firearm against Eddie Bueno, of the 1300 block of Fremont Drive, Hanover Park; Ruben Murillo, 20, of 1300 block of Court O, Hanover Park; Raymundo Murillo, 18, of 1300 block of Court O, Hanover Park; Alexis Ortega, 19, of 60 block of West Devlon Drive, Glendale Heights; and Emmanual Pereida, 21, of the 5600 block of 73rd Street, Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Police interviewed the men and determined that a 9-millimeter semiautomatic handgun owned by Bueno was taken outside in front of the residence during a party and fired several times into the ground by each of the five men.

The men were held in the DuPage County jail, where bail was set at $25,000 for each. All five remained in custody Sunday.
