Keeping Cool: Dog Rescue From Locked, Hot Car On Hawthorne St Near Walnut Ave, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 12:20 PM Sunday to rescue a dog from a hot car near Hawthorne Street and Walnut Avenue Arlington Heights, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a dog was accidentally locked in a car on Hawthorne Street, just west of Walnut Avenue.

Firefighters from Engine 2 crew used special tools to unlock a car Sunday to rescue a small dog that was accidentally locked in the car. No damage to the vehicle, and no harm to the dog.

Air temperature was climbing through the neighbors. Before firefighters arrived, residents cooled down the car with a garden house.
