Severe Damage, No Injuries After Car Slams Into Back Of Garbage Truck On Palatine Rd, Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 12:26 PM Tuesday to a report of crash with injuries at 19 East Palatine Road Arlington Heights, IL. Police and firefighter/paramedics received a report that a car crashed into a garbage truck and had severe front-end damage.

Upon arrival police discovered the man was trapped in his car, but was not injured. An extrication response was ordered, but most of the interior damage was on the passenger side, and first firefighter/paramedics on the scene were able to extricate the driver.

He was checked out by paramedics and was released by 12:31 p.m.

Apparently the garbage truck was stopped in the right lane of the frontage road of eastbound Palatine Road getting ready for a garbage pickup when the driver of a 1987 Chevy Caprice changed lanes from the express lanes into the frontage road lane and slammed into the back of the garbage truck. The driver of the garbage truck was at the back of the truck and was narrowly missed. He was not injured.
